Third, it might cause a shift from voluntary euthanasia, to non-voluntary and involuntary euthanasia where foreknowledge and consent is no longer vital (Garrard and Wilkinson 64). Fourth, it could shift health care focus from quality to quantity, where health care providers see euthanasia as a means of reducing any costs to them. Finally, it takes away from the value and sanctity of human life, reducing it to something that can be easily taken away. It imposes a new way of dying onto the society.
